The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. is a leading global investment banking, securities and investment management firm that provides a wide range of financial services to a substantial and diversified client base that includes corporations, financial institutions, governments and individuals.
As an Economics major with a possible minor in finance, I will be able to offer financial services. I will join the New Analyst Program and build my career as a Financial Planning Analyst. I see myself adding a different perspective to their company because of where I come from.
Amazon is the world’s largest online marketplace, AI assistant provider, live-streaming platform and cloud computing platform as measured by revenue and market capitalization. It owns many subsidiaries such as Whole Foods, Audible, Twitch, Prime Video, and many more. The multinational technology company focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence.
I would like to have a Job at one of the BIG 5 companies in the world as a Market Analyst. I will gather and analyze data on consumers and competitors. This job is perfect for a company like Amazon because it tries to target certain products to a particular audience. That how they basically make money. My addition will help improve the customer experience in finding the products that they need easily.
Exxon Mobil Corporation is engaged in energy business. The Company is engaged in the exploration, production, transportation and sale of crude oil and natural gas, and the manufacture, transportation and sale of petroleum products.
Even though it may seem that only a person with an Engineering degree can work there, with an Economics degree I can get a job as a Risk Analyst. I will examine ExxonMobil’s investment portfolios, including overseas investments, and analyze the risk involved in associated decisions. I will be able to project potential losses, and make recommendations to limit risk. Since I am fluent in speaking three languages, I think I will be able to meet with clients overseas easily and better calculate the risk limitations.
Ayaka Doki is an Investment Banker working at Goldman Sachs. She presents herself through her LinkedIn account where she mentions here current position, previous positions, and internships. She also mentions startups or seminars she participated in. She also includes where she received her education from.
Madi is a Merchandising Assistant that graduated with an Economics Major with a Minor in Social Media & E-Marketing Analytics. She presents herself in an anonymous way. She doesn’t list her full name, which school she attended, or even a picture of herself. The website is in a interview format comprised of Questions & Answers. I think this website article is intended for people to get useful information out of that could motivate them in their career.
Briana Caban is a Corporate Reporting Analyst at ExxonMobil Corporation in the Greater Houston Area. She graduated from University of Texas San Antonio. She presents herself my including an updated Resume on her LinkedIn page. In her resume she includes her skills, education, previous experience, activities, and honors. I think she presents a great example of how we should present ourselves in the professional world.
I actually would not use a website as a primary way to present myself. I would have a LinkedIn account as the primary platform where I connect with others and present myself. On my LinkedIn page I would attach my resume. I would also have a website, but I assume people will not look at it right of the bat. I feel a website in this situation would be a bit redundant because I would be relisting some of the same information. However, I could use this website to include pictures of work and share personal experiences.
Aside from a strong LinkedIn account, a website would give me an edge on all other candidates. But, it is the the primary platform I would use in the future.
LinkedIn would help me connect with people from CSU Long Beach, people at Amazon, ExxonMobil, Goldman Sachs, OR people that attended Cal State Long Beach that work at these companies!
